Welcome to Diamonds of Praise

I trust you will find some sort of inspiration, peace and enjoyment here. Be refreshed, enlightened, and encouraged!

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8 KJV

Update

Well, I am finally retired!  Not exactly the way I expected, but retired I am.  So much has happened, but one thing remains a constant.  God is good, God loves me, God is my Healer.

All my beautiful grand girls are will and growing up beautiful young ladies, all by God's wonderful Grace!

I am still machine knitting, sewing, crocheting and using my embroidery machine.  All those wonderful delicious things that I have always wanted to combine together.  A new sewing machine and serger makes like so much easier than I could ever imagine!  When 'broke thinking' is thrown out the window (thank you Bishop Robertson!) the possibilities are just about endless.  These updated, electronic machines make it the process of creating less stressful at this wonderful season I am enjoying.

Exciting news:  Attended my first knitting machine club meeting in Richmond!  Yes, Richmond now has its own knitting machine club.  It is a dream come true.  Yes, I could have traveled to another city or state to attend one, but having one here is so satisfying.

Now to share some pictures...

Until next time, keep on looking up!  Your help comes from the Lord!!!

He's Been Faithful

It's been a while since I have posted and there is a lot to talk about, reflect upon, and give thankful for indeed.

I'm retired now...something I've been looking forward to doing for some time.  Although life events rarely happen as we imagine them to occur, I can positively understand the twists, turns, and sometime surprises.

Michael W. Smith

This is one of my favorite songs.  It speaks to the wonderful price Jesus Christ paid because of His love for me...and You.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sweaters

A lot has been going on these days and I have been long overdue with a post.  The knitting and crocheting is coming along beautifully.  Practice makes for beautiful work.  We are expecting another wonderful grandchild and this time the color theme will be mint green.  I really love my 260 bulky ribber.  Full needle rib is  my goal and Caron yarn has announced a 3 ply yarn.  Although acrylic is popular, and do believe a wool or wool blend would lend itself to a beautiful piece of work.  This is next on the agenda.  I've launched into making sweaters for the grands because they are just growing up so fast.  Furthermore, the girls just love my studio and the yarn it contains.  They design sweaters and I fully intend on making them...out of the mouth of babes praise is perfected!!
This little sweater fit perfectly.  The embroidery added a very special touch to Zoe's sweater!
Eden loves her sweater dress and once again the fit from the Knitware generated pattern was excellent.  Again, embroidery takes it to another level!
It's just wonderful having such wonderful models!!
John loved his 1x1 ribbed scarf -- it's listed in my etsy shop: Diamonds of Praise - http://www.etsy.com/people/GwathmeyGalleries?ref=ls_profile

Transforming your Pain into Purpose

The Diva Pick a Bag and Let it Go third symposium was hosted this Saturday at the Wyndham Hotel, Richmond, VA.  God was faithful once again and spoke through the anointed speakers.  It is simply just so amazing to see the momentum build from symposium to symposium and see lives changes, impacted, restored, rescued and transformed!!

Now the meal was just as good as the symposium content.  We had the entire restaurant with a buffet of roast beef with gravy, baked chicken, california blend veggies, salad, red skin mashed potatoes, soup, yummy rolls (with real butter!), chocolate cake, carrot cake, apple pie, coffee and iced tea (or hot).  Whew!!  We thought we would fall asleep for the afternoon session...NOT!!!

We are determined to have a video camera at the next one...in three months!!  Stay tuned Rangers!!
